The hidden message from the writers under colonial era.
During the Japanese colonial era in Taiwan, the writers and poets could not speak of their true thinkings under the strict inspection of Japanese government. In order to express what their true ideas were, they hid their thoughts in twisted meaning and words. To explore this, I went through different fields of research including history study, Taiwanese colonial literacy, writers' autobiography, psychology and design methodology. The book of Eclipse is made of tracing paper with the layout inspiration from old time newspaper to echo with the feeling of peeling down the meanings of the words page by page until touching upon the core feeling and meanings the poets experienced at that time.
